Leadership

Dr. Paul Tautges serves Immanuel Bible Church as pastor-teacher. Paul was born and raised in southeast Wisconsin. He came to saving faith in Christ in Sheboygan in the spring of 1984, while attending a home Bible study in the Gospel of John. Read Paul's testimony.

Within the next few months, Paul sensed God's call to vocational ministry and also met his future wife, Karen MacDonald. They were married in the spring of 1986 and moved to Kansas City, Missouri to attend Calvary Bible College. During his junior year there Paul and Karen began assisting a church planting effort in Olathe, Kansas. It was in this setting that the Lord clarified Paul's call to pastoral ministry.

In February 1992, he was called by the congregation of Immanuel Bible Church to serve as their pastor. Since coming to IBC, Paul has completed a masters degree as well as his doctorate from Northland International University. His dissertation on biblical counseling as the normal work of discipleship in the local church has been published as two books in English: Counsel One Another and Counsel Your Flock. It has also been translated into Russian under the one-volume title "Authentic Biblical Counseling." Paul has authored, or edited, thirty books--all of which are available from our resource store.

Paul is also a certified biblical counselor with NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counselors) and IABC (International Association of Biblical Counselors), as well as an adjunct professor at Northland International University and Calvary Theological Seminary, as well as a guest professor at several locations overseas.

Paul blogs regularly at Counseling One Another. The Lord has blessed Paul and Karen with ten children; six daughters and four sons, (two married).

Bradford Canterbury serves Immanuel Bible Church as Pastor of Discipleship.  Brad was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia.  In his junior year in high school he came to faith in Christ while attending a Bible camp sponsored by Grace Gospel Church of Huntington.  The sense of God's call on his life was immediate and he began to pray about and prepare for the gospel ministry.  In 1957 Brad graduated from Appalachian Bible Institute (now Appalachian Bible College) in Bradley, West Virginia.

For the first eight years of his public ministry Brad served as the Youth for Christ director in three different cities.  While serving in Sheboygan he met and married Dorothy Roelse.  Following his ministry with YFC he ministered as full-time pastor of three different churches for a total of thirty years.  Brad has served Immanuel Bible Church since the summer of 1998.

Pastor Canterbury is available as a speaker at retreats and Bible conferences.  A study to meet the unique needs of your group can be developed or a study that has been used with other groups may prove to be a blessing to you
